This is the second part of Capalbio doors. The first was here, and the third will come eventually. Can’t help it – there are only doors there. Well, and arches and stairs and narrow alleys, all of which is represented below.

Of all the door posts I’ve seen, this is by far the best. What an interesting, varied, intriguing collection. I want to walk through/down/into all of them.

Oh, Susanne, what a lovely thing to say, you mean of my door posts or generally? I have a door post every Thurdsay (together with everybody else for Norm’s Thursday Doors challenge). Not that I wish to dis my own post, but there have been even more varied doors in the past. In any case, I’m glad you approve!

I subscribe to a couple of bloggers who post photos of doors every Thursday. The montage you posted today is really superb – yes, I definitely approve!

so many splendid doors. Door with number 6 (or is it an 8?) is amazing in its texture and subtle contrasts, and then to have the plant next to it, with its vibrant green…perfect.

Thank you, Elusive Trope. I think it’s a 6 and I like that one too. 🙂

Another amazing collection. #11 is my fave, the hinges, the handles, the color, all of it!
You know you made me tilt my head looking at the first one going uphill 🙂

Thank you, Norm! Funny thing about the first one is when I said: “Oh, I love it that there are four doors together like that!” Upon which mom and sister started laughing and I realised that only two of the four were actual doors.

I love this collection! Door #1Plaza Carlo Giordano is my favorite, but I love the alleys, and the stairway too.

This is a beautiful collection of doors. I also really like the walls and the narrow perspective in some of your photos. Very nice work!

I like that first shot, the header. The way the bottoms of the doors are more or less straight while the street isn’t is fun. Not many windows in these shots, though. Everything is closed up.

Thank you, Janet, and it’s true: windows are really not all that noticeable. Lucky me that we’ve got a Doors challenge and not Windows. 😀

this is probably the greatest post on doors I’ve seen! The first one is strange, going uphill, and with that modern planter sitting there amongst the ancientness of rock! I also really like the last photo with all the detail and vines and stuff!

Fabulous ! I love the theme, the grouping and the flow of these photos one to the next. Israel? France? So many of them are evocative of different places for me. Very painterly, you clearly have a good eye!

Oh, Peta, thank you! The painter in me is blushing because surely has never been summoned before 😉 Yes, this Etruscan country here is truly ancient. There is a town close by, Pitigliano, that is called “little Jerusalem”. Going there again this weekend… More doors! Yeah!

What an amazing bonanza of doors you’ve uncovered!! The one my eyes keep going back to has the long staircase with the flowerpots. Every detail about this scene is interesting including the archway and the continuation of the alley beyond. I want to walk down that alley 🙂

Manja, all these doors are fabulous , but my favorite is the stairway with all the flower pots! I can’t imagine going up and down that several times a day, but I LOVE the way it looks!

Haha, CL Leedy, Italians prefer style to function 😉 But I guess in the past there was no much choice, steep stairs it was. Thank you!

Love these ol ddoors, windows, buildings and arches. The first ones look Medieval. To image all the people that have passed thru, during the years…

True, SSW, history is rich in these parts… Etruscans were a happy bunch, I feel.

Oh, Helen, this is a great reaction, thank you. There will be lots of doors, and dog, and Italia. Sometimes I’ll even write. A bit.
