WPC: Dinnertime, children

There was the subject of cook for another challenge not so long ago, so today let me concentrate on the places where we also eat when we don’t eat at home, even though there are some photos from there as well. More info in the captions. Buon appetito!

Thursday Doors, December 17, and CFFC – Windoors

Even though I don’t like to combine challenges, today calls for an exception. There is only so much doors one can post in a week, and we know it’s on Thursday for Norm. Cee is asking for windows too, so this is for both.

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Trees&Houses

Frankly, there must be trees and houses everywhere I look, seeing that I’ve got this combo on most of my photos. Some of these images have been waiting for some time to be posted, and now I’ve got an excuse. Thanks, Cee.

The trees have come to mean Italia to me. The Guinigi tower in Lucca, with seven oak trees on top, was built for this challenge.

Four trees in Roma:

An Italian and a Croatian church:

A few views from Slovenia – Ljubljana, Maribor with the oldest vine in the world, and Piran:

To finish, trees around the corner with the oleander to point the way home.

Thursday Doors, September 17

Today a little ditty to go with the doors. And no need to repeat CBIT (Can’t Believe It’s Thursday).

Add-it: The ditty in the captions is not visible to all, it appears, that’s why I repeat it here:

Some come with Uncle, don’t mind the mismatch,
others with beer umbrellas and latch.
Some with graffiti,
and some with leaves,
some sporting flowers come with a beast.
Despite saying ‘Doggie’ some come with a cat
and if one is really lucky
some come with Dad.

Thursday Doors, August 28

This week I invite you to click on the first door, which is no. 1, and keep clicking until the last which is no. 60. You’ll pass a cat, my uncle and the answer which is no. 42. Have a lovely stroll.

WPC: Un giorno buono

This Thursday was indeed un giorno buono, a good day. We spent it discovering the part of Croatian peninsula Istria along the Mirna river which is such a good and quiet river that in Italian it is called Quieto. I love it when Weekly Photo Challenge imitates life.

Most of the time was spent in arty Grožnjan (Italian: Grisignana) and cinematic Motovun (It. Montona). I could make two separate posts for them but… the hack, life is short. Završje (It. Piemonte) I covered in this week’s Thursday Doors, while Oprtalj (It. Portole) provided lunch.

It was hard not to shoot every door (coming up in future Thursdays) and sit behind every table we encountered which you can see for yourself, just follow the story in captions.
