Collectable Sarah Kay stickers, with beautiful images and little poems on love and friendship, were hugely popular in Slovenia when I was growing up. Before it was Marinka books (in original: Martine by Marcel Marlier and Gilbert Delahaye) and illustrations by Jelka Reichman. This is what shapes a child’s aesthetic standards.
