Many visits to Il giardino dei tarocchi (Tarot Garden by Niki de Saint Phalle) had to pass before I realised that there too were doors. Some are just more hidden than others.

Some are just like an aperture on the female body.

Some are hidden more than others, such as the shaft below, and still stylish.

Sometimes there are merely holes.

Some mark off the territory that is not allowed to roam.

Some mean the end of the road.

And some hide in Niki’s living room.

    1. Thank you, CadyLuck Leedy! I’ve got lots of photo from here on my blog already, just follow the tag “Il giardino dei tarocchi”. It is in the very south of Tuscany, near the town Pescia Fiorentina, about 1.5 h northwest of Roma.

  3. Wow doesn’t really seem to cover it! This place is really a fantasy playground, isn’t it?!! The 2nd photo angled up the building is my favourite. It looks like a psychedelic tower-dungeon 🙂

    1. I’m glad that you’re excited about it, Joanne! 🙂 Yes, this sculpture represents the Tower card, all 22 major tarot cards are represented in the garden. I keep coming back. 🙂

    1. Oh, you haven’t seen it yet? I thought everybody is fed up with my posts from here. Follow the tag “Il giardino dei tarocchi”. It’s very close to where I live so I go there often. Before I go, I tell myself: check out the hidden doors! And only on my last visit I obeyed. 🙂

    1. Thanks, Joey. I’ve been posting photos from here regularly since I live really close and tend to go every first Saturday in the month from November through April when it’s free. Just follow the “Il giardino dei tarocchi” tag.
