Thursday Doors, March 24 – anniversary edition

Norm’s Thursday Doors photo challenge is one year old. My blog will be two in under a week. Celebrations are in order.

I thought it would be good for the occasion to have a look at what kind of doors I published in the first year of my blog before landing the perfect challenge for me.

The first time I participated was on May 1 with the typical title Thursday Doors on a Friday, wondering if this was allowed, but it took me a month to grow into a regular. Since then I think I only missed one Thursday, early on, it just flew by too fast. Door-spotting has become a family sport and a source of joy. Thank you for that, Norm, and to every contributor for making it fun.

The following photos have all already been published before I found Thursday Doors. I am too lazy to edit them up a bit and upload them once again with the watermark. They will have to do as they are.

And this is a recent revisit to my favourite local door used for the New Year’s Day edition of Thursday Doors. I had to take some new photos because they are in bloom. Let our Thursday Doors bloom on too!

  1. A wonderful collection of doors! You are right, this is a delightful challenge. It helps us to open our eyes wide whenever we are around and about. More still, Norm has built a group of friends who share marvelous photos and experiences. It is great to be part of this community.

    1. Hihih, thank you for čestitke and your effort. However, it is not my anniversary, it is of Norm’s Doors. 🙂 My blog will have two years in a few days, I’ll make a special post for it.

  2. Congratulations on your 2 year anniversary and a wonderful collection of doors. My favourites are the 1st one with the turquoise shutters – Porto Ercole, and the Slovenian one with all the bike frames 🙂

    1. Thank you, Joanne! 🙂 It was fun to look back and collect doors this way. In the beginning – without Norm’s and a few other challenges – I had very few followers and most of my doors went barely noticed. I’m glad I could give them an airing.

      1. It’s nice to occasionally review past posts so new readers can enjoy what they’ve missed. You have posted some really great doors and I’m also glad they have a bigger audience now 🙂

  3. As usual, you have an artful collection! I like all of them, (who wouldn’t?) but I adore that stone wall with the bicycle leaning. There’s something perfect about that particular photo.
Happy almost two year Bloggoversary! 🙂

  4. Each week I look forward to seeing what you have for in store for us, and they are always a joy to behold. The retrospective idea was a good one. I may try it myself sometime soon.
Thanks for being a regular contributor Manja it has been a pleasure getting to know you through your wonderful photography and stories.

    1. Oh, thank you, Norm! It’s always a pleasure to come up with a door or 16. And it was your challenge and a few others that brought more audience to my blog. Hurrah into the second year!
