Wherever you are is called Here

For anybody who might be lost, a lovely poem for World Poetry Day. I have never been more found myself.

by David Wagoner

Stand still. The trees ahead and bushes beside you
Are not lost. Wherever you are is called Here,
And you must treat it as a powerful stranger,
Must ask permission to know it and be known.
The forest breathes. Listen. It answers,
I have made this place around you.
If you leave it, you may come back again, saying Here.
No two trees are the same to Raven.
No two branches are the same to Wren.
If what a tree or a bush does is lost on you,
You are surely lost. Stand still. The forest knows
Where you are. You must let it find you.

      1. I try to keep up with those I’ve connected with, but like you, I get behind! Trying to finish off my fifth novel plus blogging plus real life is a bit time consuming sometimes! So thank you for stopping by and saying “hi” – a nudge to hop over for a visit! 😉

    1. I’ve always read a lot, nowadays I mostly do it online. Whenever I come across anything that tickles my fancy, also if it’s a song, I save it in my drafts and sooner or later I’ll be happy to use it. And I’m happy I made you love a snail. 🙂
