What does one see first if one comes from the snow? The grass IS always greener over there if one travels south. Hail us who can choose.
Before leaving to Slovenia for New Year’s, I took my camera on a stroll around my home to capture some of the gates over here.
When I returned, I found myself standing in front of the last one because the light took me there.
And no matter how much I love Thursday Doors, I had to admit that it’s best when there is no door.

Interesting take, well done.

Indeed it is, Joey. I had to follow it and break in. (Nah!)

Better you than that distracting door 😉

A beautiful array of gates! I especially like the second photo – so unique.

Haha, the last three shots, however beautiful they are, give the impression you tell us a ‘horror’ story. First shot far away, second shot zooming in, third shot close up. Something terrible is going to happen! But no, just a lovely park 🙂 Nice!

Love love love. I just want to grab a blanket and a book and sit next to one of these gates.

Girl, I’d love to see you do that and then the expressions of perplexed locals who would keep bringing your chairs. 🙂

What great photos. I am struck, in looking at them as a group, at the fantastic way they “grid” the landscape behind them. Don’t know why this occurred to me, I just liked it!

Claudia, this is my daily view. I think I see it in grids myself most of the time, whether I want it or not. Thanks!

I really love a nice metal gate. They frame the scenery so beautifully!

Indeed, Jan, and Italians are stylish in choosing them.

I love the gates, but I agree that the tree-lined road without the gate is best.

Lovely set of gates Manja but my favourite is the last one of the treelined road with the strange white door – it almost looks as if it isn’t actually attached to anything – very Doctor Who! 🙂

😀 You are right! There is a door even on the last photo where I thought there is none! I was too mesmerised by the light to pay attention to this weird cabinet.

I’m sure Doctor Who is in there Manja! Perhaps it wasn’t there when you looked but just appeared in the photo afterwards – time travellers do that sort of thing you know! 😀
